This is not "odd", this is exactly the outcome you'd expect if marriage primarily benefits men.

I oppressed my wife of 15 years in o following her dream career as a lawyer while I shelved my plans to stay home and raise the kids. I oppress her in to eating the meals I cook for when she gets home too.
