One of the main reasons I advocate considering a non-traditional education route to my younger American peers who want to animate.
I think it’s a real shame that there isn’t a solid career in the US for traditional hand drawn animation- this has resulted (culturally and financially) in a disinvestment from US animation schools on upholding high standards for that medium. and character designs as well. .
