The meandering Ouse Creek in Peterborough is one of my favourite water trails. You turn a corner and there’s typically some sort of wildlife staring back at you🥰

Baptist Road north of Cobourg. We were surprised to hear Red-Winged Blackbirds singing all around us.

The Ganaraska Hiking Trail was the perfect destination today as we hiked from the 4th Line/Port Hope north to the creek where we sat on a bench and yakked for a while😎

Launch at Birdsall Point/Rice Lake on the @TrentSevernNHS and paddle westbound to find this creepy scene of a boat that apparently got caught in a windstorm a few years ago. It comes complete with motor and snakes 😱

Another glorious paddle on the @TrentSevernNHS This time we launched from Drysdale Rd, Hastings and paddled around Huyke Island.

A short ferry ride to Grasshopper Island (Island Spirits) on Rice Lake takes you to a world of free-roaming animals for a day of feeding-frenzy fun. Yesterday was a hoot! You can even stay in a cabin at the water’s edge.

We stayed cool as we kayaked down the @TrentSevernNHS eastbound from the hamlet of Trent River.

We paddled the @TrentSevernNHS where it meets up with Crowe River in Campbellford, and picnicked at Crowe Bridge CA falls.

We hiked the Newcastle Trail, had a picnic on Lake Ontario‘s shoreline, and learned about the shipwrecks in the area while we cooled off at @PresquilePP

Hiking dead-end backroads in Northumberland (in this case, Garland) is always a treat ‘cause they tend to end in unassumed roads waiting to be discovered.
