I find myself mesmerised by the beautiful symmetry of this half-demolished Glasgow tenement and exposed chimney flues. Pure art.

All this talk of an Oasis reunion has reminded me of the interview I did with Ayako Misawa (the Japanese woman who filmed them at King Tut's in '93) for Glasgow Live last year. "Nobody knew who was playing on stage at the time" https://t.co/KZ5895Kgab

Thirty years ago, Japanese student Ayako Misawa armed with a Sony Handycam walked in early doors for a gig at Glasgow's King Tut's Wah Wah Hut and captured history in the making.

It was all that "eins, zwei, drei" nonsense that got us all nervous in the first place

Last night I fulfilled a 7+ year promise to Dave McLean to get a Big Moon or Big Sun shot behind the Forysth Sphere - as a gift to thank him for his Lost Edinburgh campaign to have it reinstated - sorry it took so long pal @lostedinburgh #ForsythSphere

Today’s pic takes us back to #1964 and construction workers at the opening of the @forthroadbridge – Eddy Meyer and the men who helped in its construction, 1960-64. Eddy Meyer (center of group, with cap and moustache) and Pat Hughes (furthest left) @lostedinburgh

On September 1, 1859 the earth was hit by the largest recorded solar storm in history, which wreaked havoc on telegraph systems and sparked intense aurora events here in Scotland and around the world. Absolutely fascinating to see how it was initially reported.

@neilgregoryhes @HistEnvScot @RIASmembership @theAHSS @lostedinburgh Thanks for the inspiration @neilgregoryhes 👏 We just found the elaborately, Gothic Gowanbank - a farm steading designed to the personal taste of Sir James Gowans in mid C19th Torphichen, West Lothian. #ArchitectureArchives

I cannot stress enough just how incredible this montage of Princes Street in 1980 is; it's like having access to a retro Google Street View. You can just about count on one hand the number of brands still trading. https://t.co/H4snFanCCG

In 1980, Edinburgh's main thoroughfare had a very different retail offering compared with the present day, with a lot of the brands now only existing in fading memories - until now.

#THELMAMessages A row of shops on an unidentified #edinburgh city centre street. We think Falks electricals (did you shop there?) on the right is now Treasure Trove - home of handknitted dolls and bootees! Are we right? #shopping #retail @edinburghpaper @lostedinburgh

Haha! Fascinating flicking through the Spanish sports pages trying to paint us as footballing Neanderthals that caused an upset, when it was far from the case.

A really special wee film this, featuring @GlasgowRobot and a very young Soup Dragon @jim_mcculloch

VHS footage was filmed as part of a student project way back in 1984. Now, almost 40 years on, it has resurfaced and has left one or two well-known local performers positively stunned.

Unable to get into the 'Turnbulls Tornadoes' first team at Hibs in the early 1970s, Alex Pringle left Scotland for Florida, where he ended up playing against the likes of Pelé to packed stadiums in...

Daily Record - Tuesday 15 December 1987 David Platt to Hibs for £100k? That would've been some signing. Unfortunately for the Hibees, he chose Villa, 62 England caps and Serie A instead.
