Does anyone else hope the new toon is a relative of Tisha? Qwel said they have history together *and* don't like each other. All the other canonically related toons get along great, so I'd love for a new character to break the status quo.

Had to repost because I forgot to censor the name, whoops. Anyway, I really do not care if you ship Reflectivedetective or not, but it feels like a major disservice to Glisten as a character to imply he only bonds with people to fuel his ego.

Shout out to the time I posted my Reflectivedetective thread on TikTok and got the worst interpretation of Glisten I've ever seen in the comments. Because what do you mean he's only close to Rodger to fish compliments from him?

And on the other side of the spectrum, Shelly wants everything Vee has: an audience who listens and toons who care about her trivia. Why else would her twisted description describe Shelly as "enraged" by everyone's "ignorance of her existence"?

This is exemplified in Vee's twisted. Her "worthless ads and pop-ups" demand the player's attention. She is desperate not to be ignored. Why is this?. Because at the end of the day, Vee's biggest fear is being Shelly. Forgotten, dull, and outdated.

What do we do with technology that grows obsolete? We buy the newest model and get rid of the old one. If Vee was performing poorly, who's to say Gardenview couldn't just build a better version of her? They already had plans for a Vee Version 2, even when she WAS successful.

As forgettable as Shelly is, as poor as her plushies sell, and as boring as her facts are, she doesn't have to change. She doesn't fear replacement. There's no "next model" they can upgrade her to. Shelly is free to be unapologetically herself. Vee has no such luxury.

But Shelly has something that Vee will never have, no matter how desperately she craves it. The ability to exist while being obsolete. Vee may outclass Shelly, but that's not something Shelly seems to resent her for, and that's because she doesn't have to.

Again, this is NOT to say Vee harbors any hatred towards Shelly, nor that she ever intends to hurt her. But it's clear she doesn't view her highly. Especially with the ichor operation and Gardenview's shutdown, Vee just wouldn't have the time to listen to facts she already knows.

Plus, Vee is known for her pride and her logistical thinking. Objectively, she IS better than Shelly, and it was inevitable that she'd steal her spotlight, even if she didn't mean to. We know she has a superiority complex when it comes to Dandy. Why would that stop with him?

She doesn't indulge her in her facts and she only talks to her when she needs her help. Unlike with Looey or Teagan, Vee doesn't care to clarify that she didn't mean to hurt Shelly's feelings in their dialogue. She doesn't even seem to notice when she upsets her.

Everything Vee fears happening to her, she has already done to Shelly. She outclasses her in everything, and I think Vee is somewhat aware of this. I am NOT arguing that Vee dislikes or acts maliciously to Shelly, but I do believe that she internally views her as "beneath her.".

We also know this is something that Vee strongly believes in. Consistently, she will argue she's more than just a robot and demands to be viewed as such. She loathes being reminded that she's "outdated," most likely because it reduces her to her technology.
