EcoPrefab uses pigmented lime plaster – a natural, breathable finish made with lime & pigments. It replaces cementitious plaster that traps moisture & chemical paints that are toxic, costly and short-lived. Durable, low-carbon & healthy - performance and character in one finish.

In EcoPrefab classrooms, the blackboard wall does more than hold chalk. A narrow skylight, made of clear sheet, above lets in soft light enough to radiate the front of the room without glare. Lighting design doesn’t always need wires. #EcoPrefab #SustainableDesign #Uganda

Built using simple materials and smart spacing, breeze walls offer comfort by design. They are a practical, low-energy solution for better indoor environments and a reminder that architecture doesn't always need to be high-tech to be effective. #NaturalVentilation #SmartDesign

In hot climates, breeze walls create natural cross-ventilation, reducing the need for fans/air conditioning. They allow buildings to stay cooler during the day by letting hot air escape and fresh air in.

Breeze walls These are walls designed with intention—structured to let air move through a space without compromising privacy or security. They do more than look interesting; they serve a real function.

‘So So Local’ …is a Ugandan way of describing something that is of really poor quality. To the contrary, Localworks wants to show that it is possible to create amazing architecture with local materials; in short, that ‘local’ in fact ‘works’ really well!

Delighted to host our friends from Build by Nature and Climate Smart Forest Economy Program at our #EcoPrefab pilot in Namasumbi. This was the first teacher housing prototype we built in 2021, and we are pleased to see how well it has been doing over time.
