The government should be proscribing Otzma Yehudit, National Religious Party–Religious Zionism or even Likud as they are supporting and propagating the terrorism in the West Bank and genocide in Gaza. Raising money for and supporting them should be treated as high crimes.

Palestinian Action activists that break the law should be rightly prosecuted. But proscribing a group who are trying to stop a genocide when they have not used terrorists tactics is a wild overreaction and dangerous. This makes it illegal to even support their cause.

*Scrap for lots of people by changing eligibility, but not abolish entirely. They will likely take it away from people that use it to get into work, and keep it for those that are not in work. Pushing people in work, out of work and into poverty and benefit dependency.

Just to remind people PIP (which the government is suggesting to scrap) is a payment for adjustments not a payment for unemployment. Almost 50% of PIP goes to people in work - to help them get to work. Anyone suggesting scrapping PIP will get people working is just lying.

On shore wind remains the cheepiest energy, battery storage in every house preventing energy surges and mitigating against generations lows, solar on every new/retrofit roof, new tidal, insulation of homes and district heating will be how we get our bills down not nuclear.

Small Modular Reactors use the technology which is widely used, but have not been used in commercial grid - eg Hinkley C is using existing EPR tech and took 5 years longer because of teething issues of a new tech in UK, but nuclear should not distract from sustainable energy.

We already have the sites and locations begging for it - the last government bought land at the former nuclear sites Wylfa in Ynys Môn/Anglesey and Oldbury-on-Severn in Gloucestershire. Both these should be developed as EPR reactors. Small modular are not yet tested or dig ready.

We should have a national nuclear corporation that does generation and clean up - not burdening one cost on the tax payer. We also need economies of scale, in this end Sizewell will be only the second EPR reactor in the UK and 5th in the world. We need two more get any benefit.

Sizewell C announcement is to be welcomed, nuclear has a place in our energy grid, it was never really in doubt - work had already started at the site - but the reality is nuclear is one of the most expensive energy sources and due to clean up, impractical for private investment.
