When the CB you sidelined puts in repeated MOTM performances, the club captain you disrespected scores the goal to keep the club up, from a cross the other guy you sidelined provided, AND your favourites put in a shift for the team too…

played the best football I’ve seen from a visiting team at Home Park this season. Couldn’t take your chances and we did. Best wishes for the rest of the season! 😁
#PAFC
Would love to know what that sounded like on the telly because I haven’t heard/ felt HP like that for a long time. Maybe even since the Pompey play-off.
#PAFC
Crowd were as good as could be expected given our current situation. Saw animation in the Mayflower lower and Lyndhurst.
Heard nothing negative until the 93rd minute.
Fans have done all we can today. Well done all. Not on us.
#PAFC
Schuey can take some grief too, while I’m in the mood, the treacherous hypocrite. Ripping half the staff away at the most pivotal part of the season.
#PAFC
Maybe it’s just because it’s what I want to hear and I’m being dreadfully gullible - but I’ve completely bought what Parkinson, Nance and Cooper have been selling today.
#PAFC
So deflated. I mean: if you’re not going to apply the rules, what’s the point in playing?
I grew up on Argyle being awful - I don’t mind losing…fairly. But this, week-in and week-out is soul destroying. I’m not even paying proper attention now. So unjust.
#PAFC
I know emotions are running high, but given that Neil Dewsnip has been very loyal to Argyle, and one of the best things to happen to us, could we maybe row back on the Scouse slander? Guy is probably working day and night for us rn. Maybe I’m being soft.
#PAFC
At this point I don’t even care if he means it; if it’s a scripted answer or whatever. The fact that an 18yo loanee has produced a better PR in one answer than IF has managed in 20-odd interviews is damning.
Just imagine if we get 6 points from the next 2. What a relief that’ll be. What a turnaround. What an indictment.
Not at all confident it’ll happen. But at least there’s now a smidgin of hope.
#PAFC
Think
#PAFC
deserve credit where it’s due for their business in this window.
Some wanted numbers. ✅
Some wanted experience. ✅
Some wanted permanents.✅
Some wanted quality. ✅
A striker to come?
Just got to hope that the manager and players can put it together, now.
Lots digging Mumba out for the foul at the end - didn’t even look a foul to me; think he’s flopped as soon as Mumba has challenged and Bali’s been proper hard done by.
#PAFC
As proud as the team and the fans should be of this, it shines a light on the defensive deficiencies in the coaching (and even execution) so far this season. Just a small improvement should see us more than comfortable, when we are outscoring the top 4 at home.
#PAFC
I really feel sorry for Foster. Can’t be easy coming into a club in major squad transition at the busiest point of the schedule with little to no staff and in your first real HC job.
That doesn’t absolve him from all criticism. But it’s far from an awful job he’s done.
#PAFC
Might not have been a stellar game from him, but Gyabi got his head on SO many second balls and rushed so many opposition passes. Not so much ‘intangibles’ as ‘marginal gains’ - traits and skills like that can often be the difference.
Forshaw, though…😮💨
#PAFC
Seems I am much more upbeat than most.
We’ve looked more entertaining and threatening last 2. We weren’t going to transform overnight.
Last night “we” scored and got a point - doubt either happen under Foster.
Still in our hands. 4 more points should do it. Possible.
#PAFC
I SWEAR I said somewhere that Devine would look better in Gyabi’s spot, and Gyabi in Devine’s. (And didn’t just think it.) Can’t find the receipt.
Gyabi certainly making the best use of his passing and athleticism with the extra space he gets there.
#PAFC
I’ll be as devastated as anybody if Azaz goes, but it’s a wonderful opportunity for Luke Cundle. Who’s only 21, and only getting better. I know they aren’t the same profile, but it’s not the end of the world, as detrimental as it will be.
*if Wolves don’t recall him.
#PAFC
Gyabi’s ceiling is scarily high. To my eyes, he made both the most small errors but also the most impressive contributions on Saturday. If he can refine that “looseness” from his game he will be someone we say ‘I can’t believe we had him him at Argyle for a few months.’
#PAFC
Unique thing with Whittaker is: he seems to look beyond money etc for happiness. He won’t be off just because he’s offered 4x wages. He’ll want a project that is comfortable for him and his family. I suspect he would be happy to stay until the Summer and reevaluate then.
#PAFC
Getting tired of seeing ‘let’s all get behind the boys’ from people who never sing, shout or even ‘stand up if you love the greens’.
What they really mean is: I want the sections that actually do make noise to do it the way I want them to.
#PAFC
I like to think of myself as objective. Rational rather than emotional.
I can find no redeeming features in that performance. And a lot of regression.
Worried.
#PARC
I don’t think we’re here if Foster went in the international break.
Feel there’s been a bit too much ‘trying to be clever’ in a number of areas this season - and it could cost us dearly.
#PAFC
I love how much folks in this league hate losing to us. Delicious.
Lost count of how many ‘cup finals’ we’ve had this season, for example.
Argyle boiling bladders, everywhere they go…
#PAFC
The idea that no permanent signings = no progress is baffling to me. If we bring in loans and stay in the Championship, THAT IS PROGRESS! We are in the a Championship and not League One!
#PAFC
@secondtierpod
This is the perfect goal to answer people who ‘don’t get’ football: the ‘go on!’s; the anticipatory standing and jubilant release of the crowd; the jubilant mind-loss of the scorer who is so overwhelmed he doesn’t even know what to do with himself…how can you not get it?
Randell was my MOTM on Monday. A midfield of Randell-Houghton-Cundle could well supplement what we lose in Azaz in other ways.
As devastating as it is, the bigger picture isn’t THAT bleak.
#PAFC
Only heard sound bites of Cifuentes to this point: don’t think I’ve ever listened to an opposition post match presser (4 mins) and agreed wholeheartedly. Insightful; accurate and objective - seems a formidable guy to have.
#PAFC
#QPR
Fair play.
Players and manager all stood up and were counted. It wasn’t 6-3, but equally as emphatic a response to an aberration as Norwich was to Bristol City.
#PAFC
Personally, I think 7 points is the min we need.
Been saying for a month (given our form) that if we don’t beat Rotherham, we don’t have a realistic chance of accruing that.
This really was the last credible moment for the call to be made.
Season on the line on Sky…
#PAFC
Can you imagine going on the lash and then you come into work and told the gaffer has gone without warning? Sure the lads will do their professional best on Saturday, but we should be understanding if the response isn’t quite what we’d like. ATID.

If MW10 stays, I can’t think of an away game I’ve ever wanted to be at more than the Swansea game. Shame tickets are hen’s teeth. I beg the best away support of the season. And get the Whittaker songs going.
#PAFC
The problem with selling MW10 for £15-20m is that it likely costs all of that to replace his impact, goals and assists.
Finding another player or 2 for £1-3m to step up like that has to be next-to-impossible.
As much as Finn Azaz’s availability for a probably item no.1 on next Summer’s priority list, I feel like Luke Cundle’s future at Wolves may be a very close no.2, given his form since he’s nailed down a starting place.
#PAFC
Whatever your take on Schuey: you are entitled to it.
But we need to be united behind the team right now. We all disagree on all sorts all the time. Now’s not the time.
Tomorrow, what’s important is the squad that’s been left like we’ve been, and supporting them.
ATID
#PAFC
It’s not going to happen, but I’d like to see Mumba played in the left-forward slot over Devine. We have Sousa and Sorinola now.
Without Azaz, if teams shut MW10 and RH9 out of the game, we lack any threat. Bali has the most end product of those left in the squad.
#PAFC
What a day! What a second half!

Odds are among 100 candidates there is an exceptional talent or 2. Could be the start of an era none of us ever dreamed of - if the club are able to make the right choice.

Never went to Argyle with any family. Started going with a mate and his dad; later some mates from school let me tag along.
I love taking my kids. Love that they love it, and to share it with me. Selfishly hoping for a cup run so I can take them to more games this season.
#PAFC
People seem shocked we will be concentrating on loans this window. I’d much rather stay up with loans and be in a position to buy better players and pay better wages in the summer, than buy players within our limited budget now and have them on the books for a couple years.
#PAFC
Slept on it.
Think I’d have taken a battling loss, with the passing through the 3rds and defensive resilience we’ve seen of late, and not batted an eyelid.
But the manner of the loss and commitment of the performance was everything. 😳
Has - HAS - to be an aberration.
#PAFC
Morgan Whittaker’s ball carrying the most productive in the league.
Conor Hazard the 2nd-best keeper in the league: 23 shots; 7.6xG; conceding only 5.
@Ryanhardie9
finishing more clinical than all other top Championship strikers.
Loads to be proud of & optimistic about
#PAFC
Wouldn’t be very good for his job, but would’ve been funny if CE had said: ‘well I watched us smash Norwich 6-2 here a couple months ago, who are 4 points below WBA…’
Not a knock on Phillips at all, but I thought the back 3 looked very good yesterday. I’d be keen to see them start v Ipswich to see how they do v an elite attack.
#PAFC
I’ll happily take a lot from other Argyle fans, but funnily the one that annoys me is the suggestion that I’m ‘spoiled’ or a ‘fair-weather’ fan, when I was raised on 4th Tier football at Home Park. My time supporting the club has been basically it’s worst 25-30 years ever.
#PAFC
If you’re going to use stats to bash people, please do it properly.
Argyle had 20 shots in the H games v Leeds, WBA and Ipswich. That’s not too shabby overall.
It’s not on Foster to put those shots on target - it’s the players.
You can’t use SOT as a stick to beat him.
#PAFC
Just remember
#PAFC
fans. No matter how betrayed you may feel, how worried about the next appointment you are, how concerned you are about the effect of this palaver on the squad, or anything else: at least you don’t support Exeter City.
Could always, always be worse.

Super Ian Foster,

@ShitArgoChants
@secondtierpod
Tbf that’s a very harsh red. I’d argue the force qualifies as ‘negligible’. Stupid to give the player a chance to dive and the ref to make a decision, though. Headless.
Wasn’t going to do it but I will.
Under Ian Foster we are creating ~3.5 shots on target/game. And that’s massively skewed by 11 at Boro and 7 at Blackburn.
Can blame the players/ finishing all you want, but the system isn’t generating chances.
#PAFC
Thought Houghton was brilliant yesterday.
In Schumacher’s 4-1-4-1 he was often unable to cover the big spaces left when we attacked. Elite brain, but not super-athletic.
A partner compensates for that and optimises his cerebral and physical talents. Brave too. 💚
#PAFC
The idea that anyone has any idea how successful a manger will be based on their gut feeling is rindonkulous. There are so many variable and unforeseen factors that will impact: injuries; recruitment - even refereeing decisions.
What if the Mumba goal has stood v Saints? Would
‘Some of you went early, but fair play: you got behind the team when we asked.
We wanted to be as fair as possible, because that’s important to us, but we agree it got out of hand.
We’ll try to get it right next time.
Now let’s do this.’

Said I’d wait until after Blackburn to draw serious conclusions - so I will.
The Plegysaurus and Big Bad Brendan were very good, to my eyes.
Miller great, without the final pass or finish. Again.
We need a Plan B. Quickly.
#PAFC
PS: I love Mustapha Bundu. He makes me happy.
@WhatTheFalkPod
Never thought I’d see Sunderland do something to make themselves look “tinpot”. Genuinely baffling from one of the most admirable clubs in the country.
I can count on my fingers how many fans I saw being genuinely abusive.
This just makes it sound like the leadership was being thin-skinned to warranted criticism, and prolonged the issue unnecessary. Yes: a lot of fans were angry. But they weren’t wrong.
#PAFC
Lessons I’d like to think have been learned:
1. Setting clear boundaries on staff recruitment (assistants etc).
2. Let the recruitment team lead recruitment.
3. Next appointment needs EXPERIENCE as a No. 1, demonstrating requisite skills. Even if it’s Hungarian L2 etc.
#PAFC
In all seriousness, I’ve been lamenting the absence of a Plan B, but for the first time - including WBA - we didn’t even have a discernible Plan A tonight.
#PAFC
Really don’t think MW10 will be off unless he personally wants to. I think it’d take something special to convince him to move; he’s had a wretched time at Swansea and 6 months-or-so ago found somewhere comfortable to work and live. 10% chance, for me.
