Should they have been off, he asks.

It's boneheaded, but the system has to be proof against boneheadedness. In Germany, you'd ring to get a test and speak to someone local who'd know the rules and tell you to keep your children at home. You'd get a test immediately and have the results next day.

That was my day yesterday. 3 different families. All sending teenagers to school whilst parents waited for results. One pupil had symptoms, too. Reckless.
