🆘️ from 2 people stranded in #Bulgaria! The people said they had not eaten in days, and that 1 person had a badly injured leg. We alerted authorities who said they searched but found no one. We lost contact with the people since last night and fear a #pushback. Where are they?

This is despite occasional bragging by the authorities that crossings through Evros are nearly 0, several walls built, a new surveillance system, lots of tech and equipment bought and permanent Frontex presence. If people need to move across the border, they move. That's all.

This is the second stranding in #Evros reported by @alarmphone in 8 days. While there's 0 media attention and little monitoring of this border, #pushbacks continue (from what I hear and as traditions in the area dictate) and recorded arrivals the last 5 years have increased.
