Today has not been a good day for my mental health. I have not been my best self when it comes to parenting. Trying to ride the wave as I know it will pass, but feeling really low right now.

I am a fan of summer, but I am also a fan of my winter duvet and I can't wait to get that bad boy on my bed soon.

So excited for tomorrow, mine and Molly's first 'mummy and Molly' day since going part time 🥰

Nothing has brought me more joy than dropping Oscar off and picking him up from school this week. Before it was always breakfast club and after school club, this way I'm actually meeting the mums of the children he plays with.

This morning has been a tough morning of parenting already. I don't know what's up with Oscar at the moment, but he is being really hard work and extremely defiant. The next few weeks of transitioning to Reception is going to be hard 😩

Make it make sense: Oscar has been in a horrible mood since coming home today. Constantly whinging, screaming and generally hard work. All throughout bath time screams he wants to go to bed because he's tired. Now that he's in bed he's not even falling asleep & is playing!? Ughh

I was pegging out washing this afternoon when I overheard a conversation between Paul and Oscar: Paul: why do you love girls, Oscar? Oscar: because they have vaginas Paul literally rolls around on the floor laughing. Paul: me too mate, me too. #toddlerchats

Oscar and Molly go from being best friends to the worst of enemies at the moment. There is no in between (and it's bloody exhausting)

Still having to be a mum when ill should be illegal

Handed my notice into work today and I honestly haven't felt relief like it. Can't wait for the next chapter of my journey to start in September!

(Now I've said this bedtime is going to be an absolute shit show)

If you'd have told me a week ago that my evening would consist of a glass of wine outside whilst the kids played (nicely) together, I wouldn't have believed you!

Oscar has a 20 minute nap in the car and it results in him not falling asleep until 9pm. Make it make sense 😭

I have started to consume a lot more wine (and earlier) since having two toddlers.

I have not been a gentle parent this weekend. That weighs heavily on my mind.

Apparently the Lego piece grew legs and walked its way up his body into his nose. 10/10 for imagination there kiddo

"Um, mummy and daddy, I have some Lego stuck up my nose" Lovely little trip to A&E to get it removed. Luckily it was only a tweezer job 😅

Best feeling tonight was Oscar climbing on my lap and putting his head on my chest for a cuddle. That boy can be so damn cute when he wants to be.

I'm not completely ignorant to what is happening around the world at the moment. I just don't have the mental capacity to comprehend what some people are going through in comparison to my own life.

I have zero patience for my children this afternoon.
