While America was resprouting its tumor on Tuesday, Lady Bird was having one removed. Watching her go anywhere, especially up/down stairs, in that gargantuan cone of shame has been hilarious post-op balm. Came out this morning to find Jazz keeping her company.

On the bright side, everyone at school enjoyed my Wednesday costume. On the dark side, my endometriosis is back (Stage IV), I have a painful biopsy tomorrow and another pending surgery date. Eh, you win some, you lose some . . . just glad to still be playing the game.

Four months sober yesterday. Thought it’d be financially cheaper, but I probably spend twice as much on tasty soda as I did on booze. Bunch of other dumb things sober life isn’t costing me though, so I’m letting myself have this. Muy deliciosa.

Last day of Fall Break. Feeling accomplished and satisfied after checking off 2 bucket list items: playing with capybaras and getting one of those $5 electronic chair massages at the mall for 15 minutes. 14/10 will do both again. Maybe today even.

I watched almost no horror from 2022, 2023, or 2024 while in grad school, which I guess was horrifying enough. What are your top horror movie recs I need to catch up on? Give me the ones that made your skin crawl and then wormed their way under it.
