When I try to chat with mutual artists, I often feel like I’m the only one making an effort to keep the conversation going. Maybe I’m part of the problem too. I’ve had some rough experiences with different people in the past and I think it’s made me more closed off because of it.

Online I’ve had a lot of people reach out wanting to be friends but honestly, it feels a bit strange. Just because I draw online and have more followers doesn’t mean I’m “friend material” especially since they’re complete strangers.

Basically in my area, there’s not a single person who draws, not even for fun. Even when I meet someone who doesn’t draw, it often feels like an “artificial friendship” where we just exchange messages until we eventually stop talking.
