"There are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the new. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends!" From Ratatouille to SMJ 😀-->

I am looking to do managerially relevant research for the best possible outlets. I am impatient, demanding, and have too many ideas. But I deeply care about my students and want them to do well. Please feel free to get in touch if interested.

I am looking for a person with a *strong* quantitative background who likes to program in R, Python or Stata and really likes to think about setting up experiments. Qual research is great, but I cannot help you as much as I want. Please apply somewhere else if that is your thing.

A person wanted for hazardous journey, small wage, bitter cold, long months of complete darkness, constant danger, safe return doubtful, honor and recognition in case of success. Paraphrased from Shackleton, but a humorous spin on me looking for a PhD student.

I recently had a paper published with some great folks. I then looked at my 13-year-old son, who is now 178 centimeters. I started the paper before he was born. I look forward to becoming a better online writer and writing more quickly.

I offer a new service: pretend you win the Nobel prize. For a small fee, I call you and tell you with my best Swedish accent that you won in the middle of the night. Thanks to @henningpiezunka for suggesting how I can finally turn my accent to an advantage.

This is my one and only reminder - please consider applying. @HSauermann and @ericquintane are leading the process, but I am also happy to help if I can.

We believe that open innovation creates interdependencies not only between organizations but also between individuals and technologies, making this a thorny issue we should think deeper about as a community.

As Alexander Graham Bell allegedly said, “when one door closes, another opens.” With this metaphor in mind, we can start asking if the right door is being closed, whether it is closed at the right time, and how the door can be closed most effectively.

I would love to hear rejection stories from academia that don’t end up with ”but it later came out in ASQ…” Some rejections just hurt. We should organize “share your rejection scars” @AOMConnect.

Inspired by my son’s ambition I said: ”when I grow up I want to be a ripped nerd.” 13 year old son:”dad, you gotta work on the ripped part…”
