When I was referred to a sexual support organisation, they sent me a ‘personal alarm’ which can be purchased as a form of self defence. You pull it and it makes a loud siren nose alerting others if you are in any sort of danger. I feel like more people need to know about this

As the oldest sibling living in a single parent home, there is so much pressure put on you, where you become a parent to your own siblings from young. Your mental health is not cared about, you always have to ‘be the bigger person’

I don’t mind being seen as the ‘ child that has gone wayward’ by the extended family. I know I’m breaking generational cycles, and when I have my own kids, I will create an environment in which they are able to express their emotions and be listened too.
