We need to act now to protect the most vulnerable, and precious part of the healthcare system, the Emergency Medical System. It’s time for change and to reset emergency care. #NoMoreLivesLostWaiting #ResetEmergencyCare

Most excellent Lo-Fi sim ultrasound put together by a colleague - can flip through laminated still shots slotted into the “screen” for interpretation during a sim case. Worked a treat!!

Reason number 4207 that healthcare is not like aviation. Pilot has decided that our plane isn’t safe to fly and we are all getting off. ➡️No one is arguing with the pilot.

This has become my practice too - makes it part of the normal preparations and lowers the cognitive barrier.

Cric/FONA & My Human Factors Every time I perform RSI, I palpate the pt's neck & locate the cricothyroid membrane. It's good practice, but more importantly touching the pt's neck is how I preemptively break the mental barrier to performing cric in the event it becomes necessary.

#AfCEM2022 “We are all burnt out… all you see are the ashes working”. Burnout has made the headlines in emergency medicine if HIC, so imagine how it affects LMIC where medical and nursing ratios are <1:10-25000 or less @PetraBrysiewicz
