Some dude leaned out of his car this morning and wolf howled at me (is that what it's called? a completely unhinged "arooooo"). I was very concerned. Are you okay buddy? Do you have poisoning from your toxic masculinity? Do we need to call you an ambulance? πŸ™„πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ™ƒ.

To new followers, some bad news -- I don't post on Twitter! This place messes with my blood pressure. Head on over to LinkedIn, where I share the good stuff. Or browse through very old half-hearted tweets from me here, be my guest ;).

Subconsciously, all of us tweak what we say to come off better to others. To what extent is this skillful marketing vs being disingenuous? And for people who are disadvantaged by their background or identities, is doing so "getting ahead," or simply "catching up?" #ethicalsellout

Sometimes we have the luxury of time to think over our decisions. Other times, a spotlight suddenly shines on us and we’re forced to make a choice. It's what we choose to do after the moment passes that helps determine whether the choice was ethical or not. #ethicalsellout

In the face of the societal pressure to "always be yourself," we need to remember that we each have many selves, and that there's no shame in flexing these many identities as needed to navigate a messy world. #ethicalsellout

Loved sharing my story for this podcast! Even as a #diversity, #equity, and #inclusion consultant, I'm not immune to the same pressure to compromise my values that we all face. Navigating the Content Industrial Complex is hard--but it's crucial we learn how in 2020.
