Absolutely wild how much money Alterra has pumped into Steamboat the last few years. Two of the largest gondolas on the continent, two high speed quads, 650 acre expansion, learning center, food hall, ice rink, escalators, snowmaking... Hundreds of millions and they aren't done.

Instead of complaining how expensive tickets are at the top few ski areas, I love highlighting how cheap skiing can be at the rest. Today’s 12 hour lift ticket cost $41.09 US or $3.42 per hour.
