I'm excited to be teaching my first course for an ischool... it is XML and Metadata. I miss teaching and it's my first time back after taking a break to finish my doctorate. :)

I made an infographic to explain updates to discovery for internal users instead of a long email. I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to do this. It’s so much easier to see and explain the changes.

Making some changes to discovery today! I'm hoping the patrons find it useful and easier to navigate library resources.

One of my irrational fears is getting lost in the woods and law enforcement decides to look at my search history & release it to the press. They find things like, “how to boil an egg,” “12x7,” and “what does it mean if my dog poops yellow?”

IEEE set up an SSO access point for us without consent/request. Is this normal? This is the first time a vendor has done this on our behalf. Typically, we would either request it or set it up ourselves but we don't use this method at present. Just curious if this is normal

I'm working on a task that should be so simple but my mind refuses to accept it. I'm over complicating simplicity, and that's really the story of my life.

A contractor for the National Agricultural Library is hiring a librarian for the Smokey Bear Collection and I have never wished I had preservation and curation skillsets more than I do now.

I've looked at close to 30 diff variations of tech support follow up emails from industry. Each time i try to edit for the library, I end up being too passive, overusing the world please, and being overly nice. When really, I just want to say, "Hey - did I fix that ish or what?"

I'm not liking Threads either. Apparently, I'm going to stay on this ship until it officially sinks.

In today’s no one cares news: Chesapeake Shores was so much better with Evan. Trace was such an awful character. In other related/unrelated news: why did the good witch & CS get cancelled after adding diverse characters? *they needed to add more.

I haven't been able to verify this via the MSL Commission website or any official news outlets. I show on their event calendar they meet today. So maybe it is someone's draft that was leaked...if it was true. I'd imagine a more legal doc would be sent to ALA.
BREAKING: The Montana State Library Commission just officially voted to break all ties with the American Library Association over the fact that they elected a self described "marxist lesbian" as their president. They are the first state to separate from the ALA.

Attempting to be more proactive w troubleshooting tickets & follow up when I haven't heard back. Usually I just take silence as problem solved..I should know better. The templates I found so far are for tech, and they are ...too techy. I want to be library nice, but tech direct.
