Clara Barton was one of my favorite historical figures growing up. I actually dressed up as her for book character day in first grade because of her biography!
141 years ago today, Clara Barton hosted the first official meeting of the @RedCross at her Washington, D.C., home. The Library's Prints and Photographs Division ( https://t.co/yOSoze0T5p) offers a visual record of their accomplishments in providing relief throughout the world.

Give your male kids books about girls. Give your white kids books starring POC. Give your able-bodied kids books with disabled characters. Don't think "these books are important for people who need to see themselves represented." These books are important for all of us.

Big things are happening at @BartonPondES this week…students competed in the district First In Fitness competition with @khlivengood, our fourth and fifth graders completed a legacy mural with @MrsPakesArt, and we got NEW BOOKS in the library! #BullfrogsLEAP
