For a decade, Twitter was a part of the journey of Liberapay and its predecessors. Today, we're announcing our intention to phase out support for X. The Liberapay community has long been more active on the Fediverse than here, so we encourage you to follow us there.

The bad news is that direct debits of Euro bank accounts are now only supported when the donation recipient is in one of the 32 European countries supported by Stripe. The page https://t.co/jxTGkMSEFN has been improved to reflect the limitations of non-European Stripe accounts.

The good news is that card payments can now be processed through France's “Cartes Bancaires” network.

We have a couple of changes to announce regarding the payment methods available to donors on Liberapay.

This is primarily intended for users who are legally obligated to accept donations only from specific countries or inversely to reject donations from specific countries (e.g. Finnish individuals not allowed to collect donations from #Finland).

Liberapay now supports selecting which countries you accept donations from:

The icons used in Liberapay, which basically hadn't changed since 2016, have been updated. In addition to the visual change, technical improvements have reduced by an order of magnitude the amount of data downloaded by the browser when loading the icons. https://t.co/jgDZ8SqgCw

In response to concerns expressed by some community members that the contrast of the white-on-yellow Liberapay logo was too low, we're retiring it in favour of the black-on-yellow variant. https://t.co/urV3V54RWY

- https://t.co/TcbyJP1vug has gained sorting options, so for example you can see the most recently connected repositories. (The sorting options are at the bottom of the pages.)

- https://t.co/L9zEAlDLAR lists users who are hoping to receive their first donations, sorted by account creation date.

New ways to explore Liberapay accounts are now available. - https://t.co/ITyYE5HyUg lists accounts which receive donations, sorted by income amount or account creation date.

- The Croatian Kuna (HRK) has now disappeared from donation forms. - All existing donations and scheduled payments in that currency have been converted to the Euro. - All accounts which had the Kuna as their main currency have been switched to the Euro. (2/3)

As Croatia is joining the Eurozone, Liberapay is, for the first time, dropping support for a currency. (1/3)
