🎉 It’s a big day for
@Google
Gemini.
Gemini 1.5 Pro now understands audio, uses unlimited files, acts on your commands, and lets devs build incredible things with JSON mode! It’s all 🆓. Here’s why it’s a big deal 👇
🔈 Gemini can hear
Gemini understands audio (up to 9.5
This is most competitive pricing for an LLM I’ve ever seen. $0.35? Wtf?!
If you’re a developer, this is what you want to use.
You crushed it

Whoa.. I just had lunch with
@JeffDean
and some of the
@Google
Gemini Team 🤯
We chatted about our thoughts on the future of LLMs, large context-windows, the internet and a had a quick recap of all the exciting things we're all launching next week at Google I/O!
This was one of
Wasn’t expecting AI to advance this quickly.. but Google just launched AI employees?? 👀
It takes a job description, has a workspace account and is always ready to do things for you in group chats and behind the scenes.
This shit is wild

Damn Gemini in AI Studio is actually better than Claude Opus.. and free!
ChatGPT4 now feels like GPT3.
In like 4 weeks I feel like we doubled intelligence.
This is amazing 🤩
Veo - High quality, unedited, 1080p generative video all from a simple text prompt.
Plus public waitlist.
Congrats

🌁 this might be the nerdiest weekend so far since i moved to San Francisco
@_Megs_Li
(PM for Google AI Studio) and i couldn’t resist building more in generative AI — even on a saturday at 8am
it was my first hackathon since college, hosted by
@pearvc
and
@OpenAI
, and we made a
Great talk from
@ClementDelangue
about the importance of open source models and training data transparency!
Thanks
@Wing_VC
for throwing a great event. Crushed it
Great first three days in the Bay Area, so much energy here! My current messages to the ecosystem:
- Everyone (including software engineers, small startups, academia, indie developers,...) should train, optimize and run their own models. Time for AI builders, not AI users!

🌟 These 1,000+ students have one thing in common; they are building something cool with Gemini 1.5 Pro
A few weeks ago I was a judge at LA Hacks, where 1,000+ students blew us away with their generative AI projects using Gemini

🗓️ Every week in AI feels like a month but...
This week is going to feel like a year.
Today -
@OpenAI
has some fun things in store for everyone! Rumors are new audio integrations, better file management and agent features. Watch it here:

if someone doesn’t like working for apple, they can quit and find a job in less than a few weeks
tim cook and his team probably have more research about what it takes to build great products than twitter users
@mionwang
I like Copilot too! This looks a little different though. It’s actually separate corporate credentials in your company for an agent which does things in the background
@stevenheidel
they are relocating a couple hundred positions to different regions for cost savings. google is 180k people, it’s a bit of a stretch to call the entire company not serious for developers
@visualpharm

@midjourney
my problem with genai icons is inconsistent themes, lacking SVG format and sometimes just a little thing is off making it unusable. you and the team should train a model from your existing icons so i can generate custom icons that are consistent with a theme.
for the past year i’ve worked on keeping the +100m businesses on

up to date using some pretty sophisticated AI.
here’s a blog post explaining it all

@Humane
i don’t think this thing leaves san francisco unless it’s designed with a company who knows how to make things that people admire and adore; a ring, a watch, sunglasses, jewelry
partner with LVMH, Luxotica and a smaller french fashion house who understands fashion

- Gemini 1.5 Pro is now available in 180+ countries via the Gemini API in public preview
- Supports audio (speech) understanding capability, and a new File API to make it easy to handle files
- New embedding model!

impressed that GPT seemingly logically came to the conclusion that it’s a fish. also impressed with gemini just calling it out from know images on the internet
We're starting to roll out API support for Gemini 1.5 Pro for developers. We're excited to see what you build with the 1M token context window!
We'll be onboarding people to the API slowly at first, and then we'll ramp it up. In the meantime, developers can try out Gemini 1.5

the switch to “vegan” leather has been the biggest sham of modern cars. it’s just shitty plastic that lasts a few years and goes back into the garbage.

what do you think college students are building between classes?
i judged a generative AI hackathon at
@CarnegieMellon
& was blown away. they aren't creating another ride share app or technology in search of a problem.
every team wanted to solve impactful societal problems..
