On 7/22/25, around 12:20 pm, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Eastern Ave for a shooting with a victim. They located a male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

UPDATE – July 14, 2025: The suspect was identified by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office as Guy E. House, 47. The two deceased female victims from Richmond Road Baptist Church have been identified as Beverly Gumm, 72 and Christina Combs, 34.

The shooting on Old Richmond Road is also an officer-involved shooting. We are working with the Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team and will continue to provide updates as they become available.

This shooting is connected to the earlier shooting that occurred on Terminal Drive, where a Kentucky State Trooper was shot. While that shooting occurred on Terminal Drive, it was unrelated to the Blue Grass Airport. The Trooper is in stable condition receiving medical treatment.

On July 13, 2025, Lexington Police Officers arrived at the Richmond Road Baptist Church in the 5800 block of Old Richmond Road for a shooting with multiple victims. The suspect is deceased.

Kentucky State Police is aware of a trooper-involved shooting incident that occurred on July 13, 2025, at 11:36 a.m. in Fayette County. The suspect shot a trooper and then fled the scene, ending up at the Richmond Road Baptist Church, at which time KSP and Lexington Police Dept.

Officers are on the scene of an active investigation in the 5800 block of Old Richmond Rd. For the safety of the surrounding community, officers have temporarily closed some roads nearby and will be assisting with traffic. We will provide any updates as they become available.

Two male victims with non-life-threatening injuries from gunshot wounds arrived at local hospitals while officers were still at the scene. A vehicle also sustained damage from gunshots.

On 7/13/25, around 3:50 am, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Winchester Rd for an individual who had been shot. They located a female victim who had been shot. She was transported to a local hospital with reported life-threatening injuries.
