learning a language to fluency takes so much from you. it changes the way you think, it changes how you spend your time, it changes the media you consume, the news you read, the people and topics you care about. it changes your identity in a way.

With Portuguese, I was obsessed. Be obsessed. Don't settle for lukewarm, weak study habits. You must be interested in everything. Culture, memes, sports, anything in the language should make you go crazy 24/7. Even just hearing it for 5 seconds should bring you joy.
If I had to share only 1 language learning tip, it'd be this: Reflect on how you learned/acquired your best non-native language and do it again. Count everything, even those school lessons you thought were useless.
