6m was on fire today with sporadic E. Watching that fade out on the WSJTX waterfall is amazing. Took less than 5 minutes from 2000km+ signals to barely a local peep.

The 6m amateur radio band is weird. VHF but 1000+ mi without issues on one day. S9 noise floor the next. Completely dead the following. #hamradio.

It would appear that my students are somewhat unhappy with my final Applied Cryptography exam. I thought it was actually a very fair exam. I guess the grades will tell the story.

Great article at I can confirm this too. More F's than ever before (20%), but also more A+'s (also 20%), with the rest in A-B range. No C's and D's (as in: 0%). Very bimodal. Good students do well, but students needing more help are really feeling it.

I hate predatory marketing. “Did you see that this bad thing happened to that school because of their own fault? Buy our stuff so it doesn’t happen to you!” is NOT a sales pitch.
