Kirby gave his character alot of range whereas future stories just make him the "final boss" character.
I really hate the current direction of Darkseid. He's become a far cry from how he was in New Gods and the 80's-90's.He's now just the ultimate evil bad guy the justice league/superman have to face. Shit people say he's a superman villain more than a New Gods Villain.
