Let me play devil’s advocate to your proposed gig worker bill of rights, to stress-test your arguments, and to assess the realistic prospects for legal and political support for your proposals.@WridzATX @boston_drives @sergio @uber @lyft 1/n.

I'll follow this tweet with a detailed response to your proposal for a gig worker bill of rights. @WridzATX @boston_drives @sergio @uber @lyft.
So @boston_drives, I think it's time to see if we can rally support for a drivers bill of rights (or really a gig/apps bill of rights). This is almost more of a digital app/predatory pricing problem that impacts consumers and gig workers more than just drivers. More. .

With some notable exceptions, the business press and politicians don't really care about driver pay issues. Rideshare drivers are just not a big enough reader or voter audience. It’s less clear why @Uber’s algorithmic rider price practices haven’t gotten more attention. 3/3.

But when @Uber plays algorithmic bait & switch games with driver pay (e.g.surge shaving, bogus Advantage bonuses), no one but drivers seems to notice or mind. 2/3.

Retailers have been using Bait & Switch tactics for years. Consumers have come to accept the game, but seem to draw the line when secret algorithms choreograph the game, such as @Delta and @Wendys @sergioaved . 1/3.

I would urge folks of any political persuasion to read @sullydish's latest blog post on the Trump's MAGA presidency. Author Andrew Sullivan is a self-proclaimed and consistent conservative, the antithesis of the lunatic left. Read it and weep.

Today's FT correctly distinguished dynamic pricing, practiced by companies for centuries, from algorithmic wage discrimination, with Uber as the world's biggest and most effective practitioner. @sarahoconnor_
