And I dread, dread the day the prism pricks my finger. I was a child in a fever dream back then. I would be carried to the doctor when I started screaming. I fear when the screaming begins I would become the sound of it.

As soon as my hold on reality snapped, the prism would prick my finger, i would drop it and the screaming would start. That was me screaming, though I won't register it. This is how my mind feels like, that sharp point, the weight of Atlas holding up the world between my fingers.

When I was little, my fever hallucinations were always the same: I would be holding a sharp pointed, horribly heavy prism between my thumb and forefinger. As long as I was somewhat cognizant of my surroundings, I maintained a struggling grip on it.
