What works in Washington may not work in Greenwood, South Carolina. The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act cuts red tape, increases housing supply, and lowers costs so more people can achieve their version of the American Dream.

Democrats now see government shutdowns as a handy tool to use anytime they don’t get everything they want. They don’t care if they force people to work without pay indefinitely or if they put our national security in jeopardy. They only care about what’s in it for them.

Once again, Democrats would rather play politics than do their jobs. 25 days into the shutdown and American travelers are waiting hours in airport lines, TSA agents are working without pay, and members of the Coast Guard are not receiving full paychecks. End this now.

Republicans stand ready to do what’s right for the American people and fully fund DHS. Meanwhile, Democrats won’t even sit at the table to discuss a pathway forward. Their refusal to engage is wildly irresponsible and deeply unserious. It’s past time to put America’s homeland
