Liverpool Licensing Enforcement Officers have been working alongside colleagues from Parking Services again this evening targeting vehicles parked on Taxi Ranks in the City Centre. A total of 38 tickets were issued. Taxi Ranks must be kept clear for Taxis to operate from!

Licensing Enforcement Officers took part in a joint operation with colleagues from Merseyside Police on Friday evening. Officers were inspecting licensed vehicles and checks were also made by Merseyside Police in relation to drink and drug driving as well as vehicle safety.

The first Liverpool HCVs attended Gt Homer St Market to have their meters updated with the new tariff. We are there again today 9am - 5pm and then next Monday 7 April 2025 between the same times.

The Liverpool Council Hackney Carriage Tariff is due to increase Monday 31 March 2025. Gt Homer St Market will be open between 9am and 5pm on Mon 31/3 Tues 1/4 and Monday 7/4 for Taxis to have their meter updated. The meter will be resealed, and a new tariff sheet issued.

Liverpool Licensing Officers working with colleagues from Merseyside Police recently conducted roadside inspections of licensed vehicles near Liverpool Airport. 13 defect notices were issued, as well as one vehicle licence being suspended for an illegal tyre.

This tyre was discovered on a Sefton PHV by Liverpool Licensing Officers during a compliance inspection. The vehicles PHV licence was suspended and the driver will be reported for the offence. Licensed vehicles clock up the miles - for safety's sake, please check your tyres!

Liverpool Licencing Enforcement Officers discovered this Wolverhampton PHV with its licence plate totally obscuring the vehicles registration mark. Enforcement action taken and issue resolved immediately.

A Bury PHV inspected by Licensing Officers while operating in Liverpool last year was discovered to have two illegal tyres. The matter was heard in Liverpool Magistrates Court last week. The driver incurred fines/costs of £1782 and 3 penalty points. Please check your tyres!.
