NHC 8PM 8/12.New area of interest in the Gulf.No threat to FL but become a brief TD or TS for western gulf coast. And watching #Erin closely. Will not only become the first Hurricane of the season, but the season's first MAJOR hurricane. Still too early to tell track as of now.

Models suggesting that Invest-96 will recurve and stay out at sea. Still a system to watch. But there is more tropical activity brewing. Another tropical wave will make its way off the coast of Africa and is a system that we will be watching closely. Stay tuned!.@fox35orlando

NOAA released an update to their 2025 Hurricane Season Outlook. The outlook dropped the total forecast for named tropical systems down by one. NOAA still calls for "above average activity" for the rest of the season.

TRACKING THE TROPICS: Now watching INVEST 96-L in the Central Atlantic. The main player in defining where this system will track is an area of high pressure in the middle of the Atlantic. It is wayyyy too early to tell when this will track at the moment so stay tuned!

The NWS has given yesterday’s tornado a rare EF-U rating. The “U” meaning unknown. Essentially, they don’t have enough damage to survey but there’s other evidence via radar and images/videos that suggests a tornado occurred.
