The fact that a UK sponsored surveillance flight flew above a refugee camp the night before Israeli forces bombed it is presumably pure coincidence. Great report by @iainoverton which raises big questions for the MoD and the journalists that toe the line

Amazing how after spending 20 months looking the other way, Times, Guardian, Mail, AFP, Express & Telegraph have all reported in the last few days on UK #SpyFlights over Gaza albeit sticking closely to the MoD script. It’s an admission of guilt

So @thetimes has now run a story on RAF spy flights over #Gaza. Hints that intelligence is shared with the IDF far beyond the official story that it’s just about hostages. Yet defence journalists mocked my @declassifiedUK article condemning the media silence about the flights.

This is on iPlayer, just ran on BBC News and is the clearest sign of a shift in #Gaza coverage likely tied to a change in government tone. And utterly enraging that it’s taken so long for the BBC to do investigative journalism that holds Israel to account

It has been mysteriously decided (ie no consultation) that “stakeholders” in the implementation of Goldsmiths’ antisemitism plan include the Board of Deputies - yes those lovely people who recently suspended members for criticising Israeli actions in #Gaza

BBC’s latest explainer on starvation in #Gaza manages to tell us that “aid has been a way of life there for more than 70 years” but manages not to explain why this is the case nor to mention occupation at all. The erasure of history pure and simple.

So is Starmer saying that the UK won’t recognise a Palestinian state if Israel commits to a ceasefire and peace process? The man’s principles are boundless. But let’s be clear - this is a climbdown forced on him by pressure from the Palestine movement

and yet not a single mention of genocide in Gaza in the X feeds this year of our main public service broadcasters BBC and ITV (unlike C4N and Sky)

Definitely not newsworthy though - happens all the time in healthy western democracies

Gaza is finally headline news not because mainstream media have suddenly grown a conscience but because even Israel's allies realise it's out of control

It’s reassuring to see seasoned journalists jumping to the BBC’s defence here but they’re missing the point. We know what the authorities are telling us but we’re asking for journalists to do their job and put these claims under the spotlight - which they singularly haven’t done
