Inspection was done for the 235KM Garsen-Hola-Madogo (Garissa) Road section currently under rehabilitation. The Road connects to the Mwingi-Kilmambogo-Isiolo-Moyale route, connecting Lamu Port to various hinterland markets and Ethiopia as part of the LAPSSET alternative routes.

Inter-Agency Marketing Committee toured the Lamu-Ijara-Garissa Rd. The 249km Road is undergoing stage construction (1.5M fill, Sub grade, cement seal, double surface dressing) . Construction works capable of sustaining heavy tonnage, will take about 24 months.
where the team has reiterated the readiness of the Port of Lamu as we await Ethiopia's incoming cargo expected in May 2024. Lamu Port is currently equipped with the necessary Cranes, Warehouse and other necessary equipment to receive Ethiopia's Cargo shipment.
