It is very disappointing to see police officers trying to prevent aggrieved members of the SLBA from meeting & discussing their grievances without an order of the court. I strongly condemn such act of the police & call on them to desist forthwith.

Today, 21st June 2024, I had the privilege in my capacity as Secretary of the General Legal Council to admonish & certify about 215 pupil barristers who subscribed to the oath and signed the Roll of Court of Legal Practitioners to become full-fledged lawyers.

20yrs ago, d @human_sierra Act was enacted establishing the Commission.Since then the human rights domain has evolved. Today, I had the opportunity 2 lead discussions on d revised Act in the presence of the leadership of the Office of the Attorney-General & Minister of Justice.
