Only just found out Dwight Muhammad Qawi died. Wonderful fighter, like a small Joe Frazier. Beat the brakes off former heavyweight champ Leon Spinks, twice defeated the great Matthew Saad Muhammad, and took Evander Holyfield to the limit. RIP the Camden Buzzsaw.

The Lions concept has always been intriguing because on paper, they have a seeming 4v1 advantage but on the pitch the pressure cooker of touring, playing away, and facing (usually) one of the three strongest teams on the planet means you never know quite what you're going to get.

But historically, winning Lions tours are rare. From 14 tours of South Africa, only 4 Test series wins. From 12 tours of New Zealand? 1 overall win! In '05 they even lost to the Maori and were smashed so badly by the All Blacks there was talk of folding the format altogether.

The relative success of recent Lions tours is down to more coherent planning, that players are more used to each other at club level than they used to be, and Ireland's rise from a second-rate side. Plus the fact that, in this case, Australia just aren't very good any more.

The Lions' challenge: four rival nations spend 4 years knocking the shit out of each other, then very quickly assemble into a team capable of withstanding a gruelling away tour, eventually taking on a powerful southern hemisphere side in a Test series. It's not a simple "4 v 1".
Breaking - the Lions have done the unthinkable . 4 countries, including the best players from the 2nd and 5th best teams in the world. they've just gone and beat the 6th best team in the world. I'm close to tears.

BREAKING: Four arrested on terror charges in Liverpool, including local legend Audrey White, her brother and a local priest. They were detained for holding signs during the local protest which said "I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action."
