This is great news. London is an international city and our students benefit hugely from travelling and studying abroad. The exchange of cultures, ideas and people makes us stronger.

The Tories scrapped maintenance grants, kicking away the ladder for working-class kids. Education shouldn’t be just for a wealthy few. That’s why I’m bringing targeted grants back and putting our values into action.

We recognise that true national renewal must begin in our communities. We know that politics and decision-making should be driven by communities themselves, shaped from the ground up. This new era of community empowerment is essential to building a more Community Britain.

I’m sure I’m not alone in deploring the sulphurous, near lynch mob atmosphere that Farage and his many media outriders are creating in linking asylum seekers as part of ‘ lawless Britain’. There are issues but much of this is extravagant poisonous hyperbole. Time to say so.

Heartbreaking to read of a child in the UK dying from an entirely preventable infectious disease. Measles can be a vicious & deadly illness. The MMR vaccine offers superb protection & there is NO link between the vaccine and autism, contrary to what many medical charlatans try to

Our wonderful friend and colleague, Jo Cox was such a caring and decent person. She was taken from us nine years ago today. We will always remember Jo - and strive to achieve the change she believed in - and worked for.
