🚆 Thanks to Labour Mayor of the West of England, Helen Godwin, Lawrence Hill station is (finally) getting step-free access. 🌹 Very welcome news - we've been pushing for this for years.

🤑 The Green Party councillors running Bristol City Council want to privatise the Bottleyard Studios - our award-winning, publicly owned film studios. 📝 Don't let them:

🤔 If you were so concerned about this, why did you try to sell 1,200 council homes whilst scrapping plans for 2,000 new ones?. ⁉️ Green Party logic: councils selling council homes to the highest bidder = good. Tenants buying their own council home = bad?.
bristolpost.co.uk
The local authority is proposing to sell more than 1,200 council houses and pull out of two more deals with its own housing company
The Labour Government's plans to reform Right to Buy without implementing it immediately prompted over 1000 right to buy applications in #Bristol, which would result in the biggest loss of council housing in years. (1/3)

Once again: please speak to your Green Party councillors running Bristol. They're selling off hundreds of council homes behind closed doors and have slashed the council housebuilding programme. Their transfer of public wealth into private hands is exacerbating our housing crisis.
The right-to-buy scheme has cost UK taxpayers almost £200bn according to @Cmmonwealth. Margaret Thatcher's transfer of public wealth into private hands has fuelled the inequality and shortage of social housing we see today. The Green Party would scrap right-to-buy.

🏗️ Fantastic to see the regeneration of Filwood Broadway continue at pace. ✅ New community and commercial space, public realm improvements, and council housing - 50% of which will be reserved for members of the Knowle West and Inns Court community .

We’re glad Green Party HQ acknowledges we need more council housing!. Please pass on the message to your councillors running Bristol. They’ve scrapped over 2,000 new council homes since taking office.
The government are planning on building up to 40,000 homes on disused railway land in the next ten years (great). However, it's not yet clear what KIND of homes they will be. We don't need more expensive executive apartments. We need quality affordable and social homes.
