For 2 years we had the privilege of hosting one of the smartest, gentlest scientists that I ever met: Jean-Nicolas Dumez (40). He eventually moved to Nantes, where with Amélie he had two beautiful children, a large group, two ERCs. We are devastated for his untimely departure.

Few scientific communities are as active as that of China. This is also true for the field of NMR. We present a panoramic view of these thriving achievements in a special JMR-Open/MRL joint issue “Advanced NMR in Contemporary China”. Enjoy its science at.

New solid NMR experiment for acquiring spectra and relaxation times of insensitive low-γ nuclei. This new version of PROSPR offers significant improvements over previous proposals, and provides a quantum description of the ADRF/ARRF processes in these experiments. Open-access in.

FTNMR has been a method of choice for collecting spectra for the last 50 years. See why and how an alternative based on phase-incremented steady-state free-precession could improve NMR for small molecules without bandwidth or resolution compromises

DNP hasincreased solid-state NMR’s sensitivity but has done little on behalf of high-field solution-state 1H NMR. We “tricked” electrons into doing solution 1H DNP, by keeping them in particles that are large enough to do DNP as solids but small enough to cross-relax w/liquids.

Despite the pain around us, we are honored to be among this year's ERC AdG awardees. Kudos to the collaborators that helped us launch "SteadyNMR" and to the reviewers and experts that endorsed our proposals to enhance the acquisition of NMR and MRI.

And despite ongoing problems, its a wonderful time to celebrate Martins Otikovs receipt of his PhD degree with distinction (The Dov Elad Memorial Prize) for his thesis based on spatiotemporal encoding methods for cancer-oriented early detection in humans. Congratulations Martins!

Destruction was extensive, but thanks to numerous precautions there were zero casualties. The Gigahz, the 7T human, the 15.2T animal and the DNPs, are all up and running. So is the He recycling, and our lower-field 500, 600 solids and liquids machines. So life goes on!

For a while i hesitated to post anything re the bizarre reality that has surround us for the last week. But given the ample coverage that it's been given, I guess it is no secret that a week ago a number of ballistic missiles fell on the Weizmann Institute where we work and live.

It was "one of THOSE evenings" with family and friends at the American Physical Society meeting in Anaheim, with the receipt of the Broida Award for outstanding achievements in magnetic resonance spectroscopy and imaging. So many people to thank, that i don't know where to start!

Delighted to see Martins Otikovs' titanic effort to provide a contemporary view on spatiotemporally encoded (SPEN) MRI. Thanks Martins and Zhiyong, both for this effort but foremost for the science and ideas we shared over the last decade. See below for more:.
