Why I root for the teams I do. A pinned thread. The University Oklahoma - you know the line of our fight song, “I’m a Sooner born & a Sooner bred, & when I die I’ll be a Sooner dead?” Well, that’s me. I was raised on OU. I attended & graduated from OU. I’m as Sooner as it gets.

If a Pastor needs scheduled Sabbaticals, I’m not convinced he is in the right line of work. Especially given that the men in his congregation likely work much more physically and often mentally demanding jobs than the Pastorate, and would be laughed out of the factory for asking

As a club soccer dad, I can attest that this 100% accurate for me.
USA baseball needed the travel ball dad - he knows all the scenarios, has mapped them out extensively and told everyone who will listen (and those that will ignore him). He may be annoying, but he knows the tiebreaker rules, scenarios win or lose and who and when they will play

Judge is batting .236 (4 for 17) in this WBC and just struck out as the tying runner in the bottom of the 9th of a potential “get eliminated” game. Never mention him alongside prime Albert Pujols again.

After a two-year battle with cancer, Ilona Löwen passed away this morning, March 9, 2026. We grieve alongside Edu and all those impacted by this loss and ask the CITY community to keep them in your prayers during this difficult time. Ilona was a beautiful example of love,

Preaching Revelation 17-18 today, going through @scotmcknight’s 7 Characteristics of Babylon. Sermons like this are tough to preach & break my heart, but really for one reason. Everyone assumes I’m talking about the “other” side. A classic “I wish so & so would’ve heard this.”
