That is a program award. All of our assistant coaches, our wrestlers, our wrestling club, our alumni, our parents, everyone that helped mold these young men into who they are. This is recognition for all of you!

What a weekend for this team. A sixth place finish as a team, a state runner up for Joel, and two state champions Titan and Bryce. It’s a great time to be a Royal Wrestler! We are so proud of this team.
Two more Royals punch their tickets to state with Jonah Hamberger and Jackson Drahos winning their true second matches! Eli Hamberger with a great tournament and a third place finish. The Royals send a team record six individuals to state and place 12 in the top six.
This is a very nice honor. But I think it is an even bigger reflection of the assistant coaches we have around us that do so much for our program and give so much to our wrestlers and community!
After three strait days of wrestling at the X, I am finishing off the weekend at Target Center watching Watertown’s own Monica Czinano and her Iowa Hawkeyes play in the Big Ten Championship game.

Sr. Charlotte Becker. She has made huge strides his season & improved her times by about 6 minutes. She credits this improvement to the summer running that she was able to do. Charlotte has also been a strong leader and role model at practice.

The Watertown/Mayer wrestling club is honored to help, long time WM teacher/coach, Mr. Dave Nace with his battle with cancer. We are hosting our annual youth wrestling tourney today and having a Conquer Cancer event, with all proceeds going to Coach Nace to help in his battle.
Big night for Royal Wrestling next Friday night. It is our Take-down cancer and ALS night. All money raised will go to help Coach Bill McDonald with his fight against prostate cancer and wrestling family member Chris Skillings with his fight against ALS.

Our very own Bryce Burkett coming in at number 2 in the sophomore pound for pound rankings. That means he’s ranked as the second best sophomore in the state! But we think he’s number 1!
Congrats to our wrestlers! A very well deserved Conference Championship! But this is only another nice stepping stone along the path. We have bigger goals yet to achieve.
