⚠ After five years of litigation by noyb, Meta finally announced that it will ask users for consent before showing them behavioral ads. We will keep a close eye on whether Meta will actually apply all the consent requirements of the GDPR. https://t.co/2pW5bTMbC9

Ending the Partnership model of GPs doesn’t seem to be about better care for patients It appears to be motivated by other reasons Why not invest in the current model providing 20% more with fewer GPs? Why enforce a change rather than just invest? Who holds the data?

This could have been an exemplar of interoperability, instead NHS England chose to demonstrate a stitchup. And HSJ also reported today that NHS England wants copies of all GP data to do with whatever it wishes: https://t.co/dgBBPKcfV0

This is just aweful, and worse, is likely the tip of the confidentiality breach iceberg for these vulnerable users, coz if the policies are this bad how bad is the security & privacy rights implenentation? @richardgomer

After reviewing 32 mental health apps’ privacy policies for over 255 hours the team has found: ✅ 8 of the apps we reviewed last year have improved ❌ 10 have gotten worse 👎 And a total of 20 have received our #PrivacyNotIncluded label. More here⤵️ https://t.co/KsXRmljdg1

A nugget from @SamuelMSmith today: "Many claims made for blockchain don't require blockchain, just key management. [People] assume blockchains are secure ways to prove things. They are not. They are no more secure than the key management of the user that put data on them."

Sounds good, but when we went to NHS Innovates and then Scottish procurement, we were told we needed medical device status before we could do anything....except we are not a digital device. So much confused regulation around digital systems for healthtech. #roadblock

"Open"AI 💰Raises $1bn in seed capital—sorry, "donations". 💻Releases GPT-2 open source. 💰Goes for-profit. 💰Gets $1bn from Microsoft. 💻Releases GPT-3 with limited info. 💰Gets another ~$10bn off Microsoft. 💻Completely black-boxes GPT-4. That is some serious audacity.

Facebook's new opt-out form is very hard to find. After a lot of digging and several preliminary clicks, I ended up here. I'm now going to live-tweet the process of objecting to Meta's ad-targeting. This is pretty niche stuff. So if you're interested, I like you. 🧵

What is it with tech "care" companies that they cannot understand the word CONFIDENTIAL? yet another "inadvertent" (really? - no one noticed the financial income from the data sales for 6 years?) set of health data via ad trackers

Evidence from the BBC that therapy delivery is in transition https://t.co/0ZUTMr7hUk it's not questioning if online therapy is viable, it's saying it looks like it is, but need to know how/when its best to deliver online. But misses the digital innovation opportunity to improve!
