Lovely ride over to Amherst Island today. Visited @TopsyFarms, noted a couple of beaches to return to when I’m not in full riding gear, toured around the entire shoreline of the island, and then snagged a grilled cheese at @BackKitchen_AI, before jumping back on the ferry. 1/2

Just your typical Saturday morning where the peace and quiet are interrupted by random deer crossing through.

Last night was special, being able to see @hannahmusic for the first time at @Base31PEC in the intimate Sergeants Mess Hall. Wonderful vibes, sublime lyrics, great company, and a lovely dinner prior to in Picton at Quaich and Banter.

We were absolutely amazed at the footage obtained from the trail cam setup near a deer carcass in @FrontenacCounty. Some of the wildlife included coyotes, bald eagles, turkey vultures, and more. Within a week the entire remains of the deer were gone. https://t.co/cxdBkp90rx

We’re blessed to live where we do, having a front row seat to the premiere show that is nature. While always sad to see death occur, it does provide perspective on how it feeds and nourishes others within the food chain. Rare, but not the 1st time seeing bald eagles on the pond.

It probably doesn’t get stated enough but a huge thank you to the @SthFrontenacTwp road crews for all you’re doing during this Sunday blizzard. We’ve had our dead-end road already ploughed twice. Stay safe out there folks! 🙏

Very disappointing to see people sharing this new residential school denialist article from the National Post, including some historians. As a historian of education, here's a 🧵 on the most egregious points that serve to minimize the harms of residential schooling.

One of Murray Sinclair's teachings that I've tried to centre in my work, is to put truth before reconciliation and do the hard work to show that residential school denialists are wrong. So, since denialists are trying to misrepresent his legacy, here's how they get it wrong👇🧵

What a beautiful and powerful memorial to the Hon. Murray Sinclair (still ongoing for those who wish to watch). @Niigaanwewidam’s tribute to his father and call for us to continue on our paths to Truth & Reconciliation was inspiring. We all have to do our part.

The Honourable Murray Sinclair always walked into dark places with a flashlight so that we can safely follow. A beam of light that cut through injustice and shows the way to hope.Sending prayers and gratitude to his loving family🧡

Then yesterday I journeyed out for a sublime solo ride, soaking in the remaining fall colours while listening to a playlist of my preference. I pushed the light a bit, traversing Little Long Lake Rd in the twilight, but worth the adventure. 🏍️🍂❤️ 2/2

How could one not take advantage of this gorgeous weather and disappear off the beaten path? A couple of days ago a fellow rider and I explored some remote areas north of Seeley’s Bay and Lyndhurst. 1/2
