This whole narrative that “Fighting Game stories aren’t important” is such a braindead thing to say, because that could be said for any genre. Shooters and Hack and slash can have stories but yall draw the line at fighters? Some of the best stories have came from fighting

Soul Calibur 6 didn't underperform at all. Bamco released press conferences explicitly stating that they considered the game a huge success, and Katsuhiro Harada openly discussed the games amazing sales on his Harada's Bar podcast. Don't lie about SC to push your agenda. Thanks.
Considering soul caliber 6 underperformed in Bandai Namcos sales expectations probably not!

Virtua Fighter’s main problem had nothing to do with its gameplay But when compared to DOA, Soul Calibur, and Tekken, it just lacked so much to make it stand out Characters - Yawn Stages - Meh Story - non existent I mean the music is cool, but besides that, what else it has?

Unlocking Characters > DLC I dont care how amazing the DLC character is, it will never feel as satisfying, as obtaining a new character from using in game currency, or just simply playing the game

Soul Calibur 3 is a good reminder to how a fighting hame should be released, TONS of UNLOCKABLES, TONS of MODES, and TONS of different ways to play through a game. Maybe SC7 might finally get it right
