Shipping fast is not something to aim for anymore, now it's all about avoiding to ship Slop.

Perplexity and Cursor are the polar opposites of AI startups. Perplexity is epitome of Slop, while Cursor is the epitome of Taste. The majority of AI startups are in the Perplexity category.

Anyone else somewhat tired of the whole anti-china push by the whole founders fund / palantir / anduril mafia?. Exaggerating everything, with a pretty big conflict of interest since all their companies benefits greatly by increased US-China tension. Getting a bit tiresome.

2,874 days since Bill Gurley fired Travis Kalanick. 9 days since Bill Gurley was a traitor to the United States. And he still hasn't apologized for either.

someone sent me this image today, and it felt surreal. barely a year ago, when I started Lovable in sweden, many said we’d fail simply because we were in europe. today, @lovable_dev is growing faster than all the SF prodigies (based on relative customer growth from credit card

ngl I have no idea who uses lovable @lovable_dev and similar products?. are the revenue numbers dishonest in some way or are there actual users?. if so, who, and why? and are there any actual products out there that was created with it? demo/hackathon ware doesn't count.

you guys understand that normal people actually don't hate AI right? it's just terminally online weirdos. i see multiple hinge profiles weekly of people having the "when I need advice, I go ChatGPT" prompt.

managing context might be the most important skill for programmers right now and will increasingly get more important. it's very delicate and all software (including cursor) sucks at it . this is the reason i still prefer copy pasting from the web ui's over the LLM native IDEs.

so honestly the more i use cursor etc the less confident i become in the whole replacing SWEs thing. and i'm not some AI luddite, I use it for basically everything. it's just something fundamental that is missing. improvements on SWE-bench doesn't tell close to the whole story.

Why is o1 pro this confident? Lil bro have you heard of the concept of a cut-off date? I just gave it a summary of the AF3 paper and the GitHub README

Claude 3.7 is unusable because it tries to one-shot everything. Grok 3 is unusable because it's too long winded. Not possible to have a conversation when each answer is 100x longer than your question. Back to o1 it is.
