I’m back on this app for the summer. But a word of warning: if you can’t interact with me respectfully, you will be blocked. I have no patience and zero tolerance for that immature crap. Argue with me, please, but with facts and data, not emotions and insults.

The Bulls really love waiting too long to do the inevitable, and have ended up nearly empty-handed in trades for Zach, DeMar, and Caruso. If Coby is NOT a long term piece in the Bulls’ eyes, they need to do right by him and the team and take action before it’s too late.

And the right thing here may be paying Coby and believing in his ability to be even better. But a leap this late is pretty rare, and it’s much more likely that he’s close to his peak. You never know. But if so, it may be prudent to take advantage of his positive trade value now.

And don’t take this as some knock on Coby. I’ve been a big Coby believer, I want to see that dude get paid AND be part of a winning environment. The Bulls might only be able to give him one, and I don’t want both Coby and the Bulls to lose out by not doing the right thing.

The Bulls should pay Coby White his next contract IF they believe that 1) he’ll take another leap in production/skill or 2) he will be a key part of a deep playoff team. If neither are true, then the Bulls should try and avoid a Zach LaVine 2.0 situation by trading him early.

Thank you to all of the diligent replies informing me that the Bulls are owned by Jerry Reinsdorf. Without your help, I’d never have known this crucial information.

The Chicago Bulls have an amazing city, fanbase, arena, logo, aesthetics, uniforms, entertainment, and storied history. And somehow, they have an unparalleled commitment to mediocrity. What they are doing to this franchise is one of the great tragedies in sports. It must change.

My prediction: the Bulls will neither buy out Vucevic nor trade him at the deadline. We’ll find out the Bulls were offered some 2nds for him but they wanted to keep him for the play-in. Vucevic will walk for nothing in the summer, despite the Bulls offering him another contract.

They’ll gun for 38 wins this season, pay Coby more than twice what he’s currently making, pick 10-13th in a draft where the top 3 are franchise players, and be no closer to a championship than right now. Maybe they’ll get lucky with lottery odds, but their process is abysmal.

The problem is that the Bulls have no intention of doing any of that. They are headed towards LaVine 2.0 with Coby’s contract situation, are rebuilding around more 1-way players in Giddey, refuse to take advantage of their draft position and don’t understand the value of assets.

The Bulls are actually in a pretty decent position going forward, despite getting no draft capital for their best players (still can’t believe it.) With the right leadership in place you could get assets for some current players and secure some great talent in 2026.

I think the “rebuild” ranking depends on the question. Is it which team do you think is winning the most championships in the next decade 1) with the current leadership team in place? Or 2) with leadership of my choice? The Bulls sink lower in the ranking if it’s 1, higher if 2.

I think the most damning thing about the Bulls’ front office is not that they make bad decisions. Every team does that. But they don’t give themselves the margin to make bad decisions. They reduce their number of decisions down so that every decision is critical to their success.

I know it’s only been Amico and Fischer with these reports, so grain of salt etc., but it’s interesting nonetheless. If the Bulls won’t pay Giddey close to $30m and NO TEAMS have reached out about a sign-and-trade, then Giddey’s camp has no legitimate right to be upset right now.

Josh Giddey is not happy with the Chicago Bulls over how contract talks have gone, per @AmicoHoops . So far no team has contacted the Bulls or Giddey regarding a sign-and-trade. (

Last note: I know fans are sick of Pat. He had a very down year after not exactly living up to expectations previously. But from a pure asset perspective, this is the worst point at which to trade him. So I expect him back in the rotation with improved play (2023-24 levels).

These lineups also have good synergy as constructed. I already explained the starters a bit, but the bench provides a good mix of defense, shooting, playmaking, and rim protection. This team is far from dangerous, but they are perfectly constructed to win 35-40 games.

My anticipation is that they play Pat and Ayo more heavily early on, and as the season goes on and injuries inevitably happen, Noa gets opportunities to be in the rotation. By the trade deadline, I expect Noa to be a backup PF in the rotation and one or both of Ayo/Pat traded.
