So frustrating to see The Guardian still completely mixing up the two-child limit and the benefit cap. These are SEPARATE policies! (Both pernicious, both need to go). Can you correct @guardian @HannahAlOthman ?

Maybe they’ll decide to abolish the two-child limit….
Having listened to all the interviews over last 4 days on Keir Starmer’s refusal to commit to abolishing the 2 child cap I’ve this growing suspicion that in the Autumn Statement or Spring budget the overwhelming temptation for the Tories will be to do something on child poverty.

I agree with every word of this thread. Beyond the ever greater harm caused by the two-child limit itself, these 3 points express my concerns exactly.
Beyond the nastiness & terrible impact of the two child limit itself (& therefore the disappointment that it may be around even longer), I think there are three deeper reasons why Labour's position has caused so much concern among those working on poverty & social security. 🧵.
