Year 1 have been learning number bonds within 10. We have used ten frames & counters, as well as dominoes to look at two parts to make a whole.

We have some very special visitors in school this morning. Kim Leadbeater MP and members of the police came to talk to the children all about democracy and how to keep ourselves safe. @SouthPennine

What an amazing trip to Whitby Abbey! We are so proud of our year 3 students. Our tour leader Ann was so impressed with our knowledge and understanding of the Anglo Saxons and St Hilda. ✨ @SouthPennine

In Computing year 3 have been creating video trailers for our focus book ‘Beowulf’. They planned what they would say and then worked in pairs to film each other . What superstars ⭐️🌟⭐️

It was the first Neiley Races and we are so proud of all of the children who competed. Such fabulous running and absolutely amazing Kirkheaton team spirit. The children cheered for each other and even ran on the inside to spur each other on! We couldn’t be prouder! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️

Year 3 have had a TT Rockstars battle this morning. Everyone tried really hard to score as many points for their class as they could. It was extremely close but Cowell just got the win 🙌🙌🙌🙌 Well done to the children who were awarded certificates.

Some of our Year 5 children had road safety training today. They learnt how to cross the road safely and were made aware of potential dangers. The rest of year 5 will complete their training next week. Well done everyone. 👏🏻

Yr3 finished off their busy term with litter picking as part of Eco week. The children were amazing and worked together to ensure that our green space was clean, tidy and safe for everyone to enjoy. They were all superstars and we loved helping our community. Well done Year 3 🌟

A big thank you to all the adults who came to help Year 1 build castles today as part of our History curriculum. We had a fantastic time and I’m sure you will agree that our castles look amazing.
