Ian Dury… he gave Theatre of Hate some of its earliest gigs supporting him and the Blockheads. Really nice geeze. He said to me ‘What you doing tonight?’ I said nothing. He said ‘Well, come and play Hammersmith Odeon tonight!’ Which we did. Brilliant night!

Last night in London I was given the award ‘Singer Of A Generation’ by Viva Le Rock magazine. We, Theatre of Hate played a short set of 30 minutes too….

The original Theatre of Hate guitar…1958/9 Single Anniversary Gretch. I did the singles and then the ‘Westworld’ album with it.
The story of its eventual return from the Hard Rock Cafe is a film. I was so amazed to have gotten it back. It arrived in the hospital perfect timing

Q. Where are the mainstream music tv programs that cater for rock music? Only ‘pop’ is allowed on the tv. At best. Millions of people listen to music under the broad spectrum of ’rock’. Music program, or another program of people sitting on sofas being ‘normal’
