+ the other openly queer hockey players reinforce how their fear stems both from being gay AND being rivals!!! That's an aspect of their relationship - and a barrier keeping them from coming out - that none of the other queer characters we meet experience
i’d personally be kinda sad if some of the scenes in role model/tlg with the wider gcu characters didnt make it into the show in some capacity. part of what makes hollanov so impactful is their interactions with OTHER queer characters who show different ways of being queer.
