controller of all things. The Kikuyu believed Ngai lived in Mt. Kenya. all of Thagicu/Gema ethnic groups call their god Ngai today due to Maa influence. all sacrifices to Ngai were performed under a sycamore tree (Mukuyu) Olive tree for women, and a fig tree was a substitute.

Kikuyu prior to 15th century and the earlier ancestors called their god Mwene Nyaga/Murungu. Mwene Nyaga was seen as the god of Mt. Kirinyaga/Mt.Kenya he was seen as a manifestation of the sun, thunder and the eagle. he was often invoked in rituals symbolizing the Mountain.

Haplo B - M60 was also observed in 8% of Maasai samples. which is also found in 30% of South Sudanese nilotes. according to a 2008 mtDNA study by Castri et al. found that the maternal lineages of Maasai Kenyans are diverse but similar in frequency to that compared to Nilo Hamitic

The Northern Maa (could be the Samburu) reported having a higher Cushitic percentage 15%. The Second highest haplogroup is A3b2 which is commonly found in Nilotic populations like the Alur, it was observed in 27% Maasai men. The third haplogroup is E1b1a found 12% in Maasai

inhabitants of Tanzania & Kenya, and found them to have the strongest affinities with modern Horn of Africa groups. The Maasai ancestry is 47% Pastoral Neolithic Cushitic related and 53% Dinka related. A 2005 study on their Y dna done on 26 Kenyan Maasai men came out 35% E1b1b

The Maasai cluster with Nilo Saharan & Cushitic genetically, they display significant West Eurasian admixture at roughly 20% they receive this admixture from groups of horn of africa like the Oromo & Somali. a 2019 archaeogenetic study sampled ancient remains from Neolithic

Kikuyus prayed to a monotheistic god called Ngai, The Embu, Meru also pray to this god. The Kikuyu traditional religion has nilotic influences coming from Maasai/Samburu. All sacrifices to Ngai were performed under a sycamore tree. The Olive tree also sacred to Kikuyu women.

The Taveta people are an EA Bantu tribe found in Kenya, they are native to the Taita- Taveta county and city of Kenya, and to the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania. They are 26,590 in population, they speak KiTaveta, Swahili, & English. They practice ATR, Christianity, & Islam.
